Would you like to be a vegetarian but are worried about missing all the proteins and nutrients found in meat?
Well, you are going to be comforted by the fact that there are many meat substitutes out there that won’t just ensure you adequate protein in your meals but also a good taste of meat – minus all the health issues that is. Here are some meat substitutes you can add to your vegetarian dishes:

1. Tofu

Tofu is the most popular meat substitute and every vegetarian knows that. Tofu, when fried, looks brown and nice just like meat. Add it to your meals and you’ll make it look pretty without harming animals.

2. Vegetarian burgers.

You certainly have heard about veggie burgers. You can certainly use them as a substitute to your own burger or to any ingredient in your recipe that calls for patties. Veggie burgers taste just as great, especially if placed between fresh buns. Add mayonnaise and some lettuce and you’ll have yourself a tasty meal.

3. Chili

If you want to add flavor to your meals but can’t use burger, use chili instead. Chili with black beans is perfect. You can practically add it into any meal that requires meat, especially pastas. This one’s perfect for nachos as well. Chili comes conveniently in cans. So if you’re a real vegetarian, stock a lot of them in your cupboard and use as necessary.

4. Vegetarian meatballs

If there are vegetarian burgers, there are meatballs as well. Find these at specialty shops and delis. You can use them to make delicious meatball meals and pastas. There are some vegetarian meatballs that taste and look as good as if made with ground beef.
These are the vegetarian meat substitutes that you can consider to make your dishes taste great. With them easily available from your cupboard or fridge, you won’t be missing the taste of meat at all.
